Native display advertising is a type of advertising that conforms to the form and function of the platform upon which it comes across.

Which makes it preferred to other forms of advertising like banner ads which is very distracting and stands out from the displaying content.

How Native Ads and Banner ad Components differs

For Native advertising, the advertiser (brand) gives the components of the advertisement like the headline, URL, images, log and others to the publisher. This is unlike law firm PPC or other paid types of advertising that display prominently at the top of the search result.

The publisher then uses the ad manager to create a design or style to match their site or app. The user of the app or site sees a different interface from the one that was sent by the advertiser.

The banner advertiser gives a complete image with a fixed size to the ad manager, the ad manager doesn't change it to fit their site, the ad manager sends it as it was received. The user sees the exact complete image sent by the advertiser.

Advantages of Native ads over others

1. It encourages users to read or listen to the ads.

2. Its main aim is to drive traffic to the site.

3. It is less distracting because of its natural look on a site.

4. Native ads can be interactive for the user by using games, quizzes and others.

5. A user can choose to read it or not.

6. Native ads use a rather soft selling method.

Best Practices for Creating Customized Native Ads placement

1. Make the ads properly fit  into the app or site

It's best to make sure a particular ad is distinguished from the content on the site but subtle enough to fit into the content and design of the app.

2. Prioritize your audience

Know your audience and their expectations, to prevent them from misinterpreting ads, and clearly label your ads.

3. Do not add Blockage

Avoid using your ads to prevent the user from doing what he or she visited that site for. It makes it annoying for the user.

4. Search for openings

Native ads can unlock new ad revenue, with the way it was designed to please the audience with its contents like catching videos or images.

Native ads implementation

1. Test your ads:

Before the ad is sent to the Targeted audience it's best to test how it fits the site or app.

2. Checkout ad policy:

Make sure to check ad policy to prevent you from going against the required guidelines

3. Create a post-performance plan:

The ad must be reviewed at different times to make sure it's getting feedback from the user. Steps should be taken to make changes if the need arises.
